This collage was inspired by Roman Cement coral-like decorations on an 1835 Gothic Revival castle, Hadlow Tower, which I visited as a conservation architect. When I subsequently went for a long walk by the Thames estuary at the Isle of Grains, the idea of layering these images was born.
